NACA Housing Program Not for Everybody
64
Have you participated in the NACA housing program? What was your experience? Are there options when you are not satisfied and people are not helping?
Are there any experts on the NACA housing program out there? I attended a class for this program and was initially impressed by what they "said" the program was about; operative word. The Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA) is a program that offers to assist people with purchasing a home at a great rate with a stable monthly mortgage. They boast neighborhood stabilization and steady home ownership by working with banks to place people in homes that they can afford. Ok, sounds good so far.
Your main duty is to get all the information they need, which includes writing letters to explain this or that. They make your initial appointment at this meeting and you're off. Once you meet with your counselor, he runs you through some of the same things you learned in the class. He/She informs you that you will NEVER contact him, if you call the office, so you need to email ALL correspondence. Need it repeated? They are so personable that after your initial visit, the only way to contact anyone, outside of the receptionist, is by either showing up at the office, email or fax! Feeling special already aren't you?
Finally you have done your part and you've got everything turned in; now its time to search for your home but wait; you need to choose a realtor. Oh and you have to use one of the TWO real estate agents they have listed to serve a large metropolitan area. Choice number one, is a realtor that they are not sure how he became an approved agent but what you are well aware of, as are they, is that he attempted to get you in over your head. That is why you had to let him go and move to the second realtor. This comes out the gate running but as time goes on begins to take their sweet time when you call about something you are interested in, which has caused you to lose out on three homes to date. This is the one they call the expert, who did seem to be a little more knowledgeable and was willing to help complete the process; at first anyway!
Now, you've used both realtors available to you and are still completely unhappy with what's going on and how you're being played. As time marches on, you find out that the second realtor isn't as knowledgeable as your counslor said, not that the realtor isn't knowledgeable to some degree but she is not willing to research a situation that embarks upon new territory and you feel your fate is in the hands of everyone but you. What would you do?

Hello PerfectPreception,
I would do what you are doing writing about it. I myself will share it on my FaceBook page.
We need people to work for us not pretend to work, because they are on the governement payroll so to speak.
Everyone seems to be forgetting it could be them.
What you have done here is great.
Again, I will share it on my FaceBook, and my other followers.
We need workers to work correctly for us and truly give us better help, and when they do not do that they need to get fired. In this recession that thought should wake them up.
Thanks for sharing.
