Our minds can be tricky things and the subconscience is its own little beast. The past never leaves. It happened and it was a part of what made us who we are, in one way or another. However, you are not responsible for what you dream, you're asleep but your mind is always working but you cannot control your dreams nor who and what they are about.
It is my opinion that it does not have a bearing on your current relationship or your happiness in it. If you're happy in a current relationship then you're happy and nothing can interfere with that. Especially if its an ex you have absolutely no interest in but maybe the sex was great. Your subconscience jotted that little tidbit down.
I think the problem is created when we meditate on them! If you start thinking about and putting more into a dream than is necessary, you can create your own problems. Unless you are already unhappy I say let it go so as not to create problems in a relationship that may not have any.

my ex is ex. I don't dream unless it's a nightmare. An ex is behind, in the past, gone - as remote as last century. If you want a life, ex has no room in your vocabulary.
